Russia

stupino_newLa Fortezza Est, set up in Moscow in 2006, supplies the main retail chains that operate in Russia and eastern Europe. On the European chequer board, Russia is one of the most strategically important countries for LaFortezza Group which thus opened more than 700 sqm of sales offices in 2006 in the Roshinskii Proezd area in Moscow, while in 2008 it opened a production plant with more than 8,000 sqm under cover at Stupino, a new technological-industrial centre about a hundred kilometres to the south of the capital.

This demanding undertaking – the new plant required an investment of 15 million euros and is now fully operative – has allowed the Group to dominate a market which is still largely unexploited and is living up to expectations with a more than satisfactory performance already in the short-medium term.

Important orders were in fact already received in the first six months of 2009. The Group’s managing Director, Glauco Frascaroli, commented: «The figures are already showing that investing in Russia was a winning move. For more than a year now we have been serving the Russian market with increasing success – avoiding moreover the problems of high customs duties, transport costs and logistics – at the same time creating a generation of Russian technicians, workers and managers ».
